IEC61131 PLC controls entire tightening processes
Rexroth is one of the 30 prize winners of the NoAE (Network of Automotive Excellence) Innovation Competition 2009. In the “Efficient and flexible production” category, a prize has been awarded to a total of ten innovations. Rexroth’s idea to integrate PLC logic according to IEC61131 into tightening control has been selected by an expert jury from more than 380 submitted innovations from about 20 countries. All prize-winning ideas distinguish themselves by high customer use and a high potential application into the automotive production area.
The Rexroth tightening system 350 offers a control with integrated PLC logic according to IEC61131. The IEC61131 environment allows for a standardized programming of all working steps directly linked to the actual tightening assembly. “For the first time, the logic integration enables our customers to automate work stations completely with one single tightening control. This leads to less components and savings on the installation and energy consumption”, says Heiko Schwindt, responsible for Rexroth’s tightening technology product division. Due to the integrated PLC with uniform engineering according to IEC 61131, it is easily and quick to reuse an existing system program to a new station.
Rexroth offers complete automation systems with application specific firmware for targeted industries. The power and function of the drive-, controller- or PC-based control systems architectures is scalable to specific machinery or line needs. All safety functions for the optimum protection of man and machine are integrated in the controls and drives from Rexroth. Energy-efficient control and drive systems from Rexroth offer the possibility to reduce the total costs of ownership every day of operation.
